Arrive Paro by Druk Air (it is recommended to fly from Delhi or Kathmandu as this flight provides the fascinating view of eastern Himalayan peaks. The peaks visible on this flight are; Mount. Everest (8,848 m), Kanchenjunga (8,534 m), Shishapangma (8,013 m), Gauri Shankar (7,185 m), Cho Oyu (8,153 m), Nuptse (7,906 m), Lhotse (8,501 m), Chamlang (7,319 m), Jannu (7,710 m), Chomoyummo (6,829 m), Pauhunri (7,125 m), Shudu Tsenpa (7,032 m), Chomolhari (7,314 m), and Jichu Drake (6,974 m). On arrival at Paro airport, received by the local representative with the traditional welcome and drive to the hotel. Evening presentation with slideshow/video show and talk by tour expert. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Morning sightseeing in Paro visiting ruins of Drukgyel Dzong followed by the visit to Ta Dzong (National Museum) and Rinpung Dzong. After lunch, start biking to Thimphu (54 km, approx. 4 hours) passing through the confluence of Paro and Thimphu rivers. The route follows the valley of Thimphu river through an arid landscape. Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.
Morning sightseeing in Thimphu with the visit to Memorial Chhorten, Trashichhodzong, and Government Handicraft Emporium. After early lunch biking to Punakha (70 km, approx. 4.1/2 hours) ascending en route at Dochula pass (3,050m) and later continue descent to Metshina. Punakha is about 12 km from this place at the altitude of 1,250 m so in about 3.1/2 hours biking the total descent from Dochula to Punakha is about 1,800 m. Overnight at the hotel in Punakha.
Morning visit 17th century Punakha Dzong followed by the visit to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chhorten. Then continue biking to Wangdue Phodrang (21 km, 1.1/2 hour). Evening visit the interesting local market. Overnight at the hotel in Wangdue Phodrang.
Embark on a scenic biking tour from Wangdue Phodrang to Gangtey, covering 68 km in about 4.5 hours and ascending to an altitude of 1,800 m. Discover the stunning Phobjikha Valley, famous for its black-necked cranes and designated conservation area. Overnight accommodation is provided in tents.
Ride to Trongsa, a central Bhutanese town, covering 125 km in approximately 6 hours, and crossing the Pelela Pass at an elevation of 3,300 m. Explore the Chendbji Chhorten, which is modeled on the Swayambhunath stupa in Kathmandu, while biking the 27 km from Pelela Pass to Trongsa. Overnight stay at a lodge in Trongsa.
Begin your day with sightseeing at Trongsa Dzong and Ta Dzong before biking 68 km in about 4.5 hours to Bumthang, crossing the Yotongla Pass at an elevation of 3,400 m and the Kiki la pass at an altitude of 2,900 m while descending to the Gyetsa valley. Overnight accommodation is provided at a lodge in Bumthang.
Enjoy a day of relaxation and exploration in the beautiful Bumthang Valley, the heartland of Bhutan. Visit Tamshing Lhakhang, Jakar Dzong, Kurjey, and Jambay Lhakhang. Overnight stay at a lodge in Bumthang.
Embark on a 60 km, 4-hour biking tour to Ura camping site from Bumthang. Cross the Shertang la pass at an altitude of 3,300 m before descending to Ura village, which is situated at an elevation of 3,000 m. Explore the delightful Ura village before overnighting in tents.
Ride to Limithang, covering 80 km in about 6 hours and crossing the Thrumshingla Pass, which is the highest point of the trip at 3,750 m. Descend about 700 m from Thrunshingla to reach the Limithang campsite. Overnight accommodation is provided in tents.
Take a short biking trip covering 27 km in about 1.5 hours with a total descent of about 1,400 m. In the evening, visit the Mongar Dzong and local market. Overnight at a lodge in Mongar.
Bike to Gom Kora, covering 80 km in about 5 hours, crossing the Kori la pass at an altitude of 2,450 m. Later, descend rapidly to the Sheri Chhu River. Overnight accommodation is provided in tents.
Head to Trashi Yangtse (65 km, approx. 5.1/2 hours) from Gom Kora. Pass through Doksum, a village famous for weaving and where two valleys meet. Reach Trashi Yangtse Dzong, located at an altitude of 1,850 m. Take a 4 km drive northwards to visit the massive Chorten Kora stupa built in Nepalese style. Overnight stay in tented accommodation.
Start your day with a bike ride to Trashigang (65 km, approx. 5 hours). The route is gradual up and down till 55 km and later about 10 km upwards the Trashigang. In the evening, explore the town area, the second-largest urban center in Bhutan after Thimphu. Spend the night at the lodge.
Drive back to Mongar after breakfast. In the afternoon, take an exploratory tour of the Mongar town and its local market. Stay overnight at the lodge.
In the morning, drive to Bumthang and arrive there by lunchtime. After lunch, visit the Yatha weaving center and local market. Stay overnight at the lodge.
