Woodlawn Napric has won the third Bana Cup football title.

The BANA Cup, organized by the Baltimore Association of Nepalese in America, showcased an intense competition among talented teams. Woodlawn Neprican FC, started the tournament with a loss, faced a strong opponent, Lamjung Society FC in the final match. Despite a challenging start, Woodlawn’s determination and skill prevailed as they secured a decisive 4-1 victory.

Lamjung Society FC, who beat Woodlawn Neprican FC in the group stage, stopped Himalaya United FC in the semi-finals, but looked weak in the finals from the start.

Ten local teams participated in the tournament organized by the Baltimore Association of Nepalese in America (BANA). Woodlawn Neprican FC beat Maryland Spartans FC with 3-1 in the second game of the group stage in the tournament where the participating teams were divided into two groups. They then qualified for the semi-finals as group runners-up, beating Gorkhali FC and Hardford Union Boys FC.

According to Captain Shankar Gurung, Woodlan Neprican FC was established this year. A club of Nepalis living in Woodlawn, Baltimore. “You have created a club of Nepali Americans living in Woodlawn, Woodlawn Neprican FC,” said Captain Gurung.

He also added, “This is the first opportunity we have played in any competition and we managed to win the title for the first time, now we want to go to other states to play the competition”.

Following Woodlawn’s victory, we hosted a celebratory photo ceremony at our Greenbelt, Maryland office. Mr. Bhaskar Ganti, our Vice President, and Mr. Umesh Pokhrel, our Finance Director, were delighted to join the photo session and congratulate the team on their outstanding achievement. It was a memorable occasion that reinforced our dedication to supporting local talent and fostering a sense of community.
